While chasing one duck down the hill,
Another joins the first, they run.
The two ducks jump into the pond.
Plap! Plap! Plap! Begin to swim.
A third looks up from under water
Munching on its new-found lunch.
The little duck hidden under a wing
Ventures out and learns to swim.
The four ducks take flight at dusk,
When a fifth one joins them in the air
Completing the small boomerang.
Quack! Quack! Five ducks fly away.
Ducks take flight at dusk in this counting poem for young readers.
